The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) honored the President of the Women’s Studies Network “Sun”, Prof. Dr. Maryse Younes, and awarded her the ALECSO Shield in leadership and leadership for her pioneering efforts in academic work and struggle in various humanitarian and social issues pressing in our Arab societies.
The honoring came through the participation of a group of researchers from the Arab world on August 17, 2023, in person at ALECSO-Tunis headquarters and virtually via the Zoom application.
The episode was presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Amin Muhammad Ashfak, who praised Dr. Maryse Younis and her deserving of the ALECSO Leadership Shield. It opened with official speeches by Dr. Mohamed Ould Omar, represented by Dr. Mohamed Sanad Abu Darwish, Director of Research and Science at ALECSO, who praised the role of the Women’s Studies Network and the occasion of honoring its president and her pioneering role in Arab academic networking, and stressed the effectiveness of the partnership between ALECSO and the “Safeen” network.
In turn, Dr. Maryse Younis, President of the Women’s Studies Network and President of the International Network for the Study of Arab Societies, expressed her happiness and pride in the initiative of an educational organization that includes Arab elites and represents the Arab Academic House such as ALECSO by honoring her and granting her the ALECSO shield in leadership and leadership. Considering that this honor is a symbolic tribute to all Arab pioneers in academic and militant work, and launched on this occasion the platform of pioneers in scientific research as a project to value distinguished female researchers in the Arab world. Then an introductory video was presented to the “Sun” network, followed by honoring Dr. Maryse Younis and presenting her with the shield of leadership and leadership in appreciation of her efforts and her tremendous research and struggle work, and Dr. Younis considered that this honor is a symbolic honor on behalf of all pioneers in the Arab world and in all fields that women have competently and competently.
